Washington Examiner: “Supreme Court First Choice ruling crushes lawfare in win for First Amendment”

For his latest article as the Center for American Liberty Miles Visiting Fellow, Jesse D. Franklin-Murdock wrote an article in the Washington Examiner about the Supreme Court’s recent decision in First Choice Women’s Resource Centers, Inc. v. Davenport. In First Choice, the New Jersey attorney general targeted a pro-life organization that provides resources to pregnant women with a broad subpoena seeking, among other things, its donor list. The Court paved the way for First Choice to sue on First Amendment grounds, concluding that First Choice did not have to first lose in state court and wait for an order compelling compliance with the subpoena.
